Yesterday Moscow announced that it was banning 287 MPs from entering Russia in response to British sanctions against Russian parliamentarians.
The Russian Foreign Ministry statement confirms that “in response to the decision taken by the UK government on March 11 to include 386 members of the Duma (lower house) on the sanctions list, a similar step is imposing personal restrictions on 287 members of the House of Commons,” which includes a total of 650 members.
In addition, Russian energy giant Gazprom announced yesterday that it was halting all gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria for not receiving ruble payments from the two EU countries “Gas from April 27 until settlement is completed” in rubles.
