Russian energy giant Gazprom said on Wednesday it had completely cut off gas supplies to Bulgaria and Poland due to the two countries’ failure to pay ruble-denominated fuel payments.
She stated that deliveries would be stopped until payments were made.
Bulgaria’s energy ministry said that Sofia had paid for gas supplies for the month of April, and interruptions in supplies would violate the current contract.
“Sofia fulfills its obligations under the current contract with Gazprom,” she added.
She said: Gas supply to consumers is guaranteed for at least a month.
