Police opened fire on a car that tried to ram them in central Paris, killing two people and injuring a third on the night before the presidential election, a police source told AFP.
According to the first items collected, the car was traveling in the wrong direction when the police wanted to control it, according to the same source, noting that the car then headed towards the officers, who used their weapons.
According to an AFP journalist, a large police force was sent to the scene in the center of the capital.
These facts took place on Pont Neuf, in the center of Paris, and a few hours earlier, about two thousand supporters of Macron celebrated his victory on the Place de Mars, located about two kilometers from him.
Paris prosecutor Laure Picot arrived on the scene and an investigation was launched into the incident.
