German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier urged Russia and the West to engage in “serious negotiations” and abandon the “language of arms” and stressed the need to stop the escalation over Ukraine.
During his visit to Latvia, Steinmeier said at a joint press conference with his Latvian counterpart, Igels Levits, that “serious negotiations are the only successful path, not the language of arms.”
We need restraint and patience. If Russia wants negotiation, whoever confirms de-escalation net And we must get reliable signals, because there are many armed forces on Russia’s western borders.”
It should be noted that Russia denied accusations of preparing for any “attack” against Ukraine and emphasized that the movements of its forces on its territory do not threaten anyone, and that this is an internal matter.
