Yevgenia Voiko, a foreign policy expert at the Russian government’s Finance University, finds it helpful for London to continue the conflict in Ukraine, particularly in the context of arms supplies to the country.
“London is interested in signing to the greatest extent possible the conditions to the detriment of Russia. In this case, Kyiv guarantees itself the maximum number of concessions. London does not hide its interest in the continuation of this conflict in the context of arms supplies. Voyko gave the RIA Novosti “This is London’s motivation to continue and promote the situation,” he said.
He added that it is difficult to talk about any unified plan regarding the actions of Britain’s allies, for example, in terms of Ukrainian security guarantees.
“It’s beneficial for London to continue this conflict, support the media campaign and sell weapons,” he said.
“The Times” had previously quoted from its own sources that Britain was against a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine too early, because it thought it was useless for Kyiv. London believes that an agreement should be reached after Ukraine has improved its military position.
