A senior Russian official said that new civilian military administrations have been established in the regions of southern Ukraine under the control of Russian forces.
This came in an interview with the agency “Novosti” with Georgy Muradov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Crimea to the President of Russia and Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea.
“There began the formation of new civilian military units, Russian television and radio broadcasts were launched, and people are increasingly using the Russian ruble in their relations. All these are steps in the right direction, because Southeast Ukraine has always been an important part of Russian civilization and Taurissa (historical Russian) was within the province”.
Muradov pointed out that there are parts of southern Zaporozhye facing the Sea of Azov, including the Kherson province and the cities of Melitopol and Berdyansk.
“Historically, these regions formed a single economic complex with Crimea and provided food to meet the needs of tourists coming to Crimea. It is important to strengthen and combine the experience and the healthy forces of civil society in Southern Ukraine. I think the population of Crimea can be very useful in this regard,” Muradov said. “
The Russian military took control of Kherson and southern Zaporozhye earlier this month as part of its special military operation in Ukraine.
