Myanmar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected US accusations that the country’s officials committed “genocide” against the Rohingya Muslim people.
Myanmar’s Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that “the stories told in the US Secretary of State’s speech are far from reality.”
Myanmar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied that the country was involved in any acts of genocide and stressed that it does not intend to eradicate any ethnic, national or religious group.
On March 21, Blinken announced that the US administration considers the practices of Myanmar authorities against representatives of the Rohingya people as “genocide”.
