Officials in the US state of South Dakota announced that 85,000 birds were culled at two government facilities amid the state’s first avian flu outbreak since 2015.
The outbreak occurred at two farms in Charles Minks County, located in the southeastern part of the state, according to South Dakota Public Radio.
Other birds that had close contact with flu-infected birds were culled, officials said.
