Jessie Buckley: The Rising Star of Avant-Garde Cinema
Fans of the avant-garde will likely recognize Jessie Buckley as a result of her rise to prominence in recent years. Back in the year 2020, Buckley had a role in Charlie Kaufman’s claustrophobic and unsettling suspense film titled “I’m Thinking of Ending Things. In this film, she portrays a disturbed young woman who embarks on a peculiar and reality-bending journey to meet her in-laws. She won praise for her outstanding portrayal of Harper, the main character, in Alex Garland’s horror fantasy film Men, which came out in 2022. Buckley has never been one to shy away from an offbeat project, and she will next star as Anna in the science fiction thriller Fingernails. Fingernails is set in a future in which researchers at a top-secret institute have developed a foolproof mechanism to evaluate love. Anna, on the other hand, has a sneaking suspicion that this method is not all that it’s built up to be. As a result, she manipulates the system to secure a position at the institute so that she can investigate the viability of her failing relationship.

What is the Plot of Fingernails?
The film Fingernails is a science fiction drama that investigates the “modern experience of falling in love” during a time when the concept of romance has become more complicated and difficult to grasp. Researchers at the Love Institute in this parallel universe have created a novel device that can scan a couple’s fingernails to determine whether or not they are content as a method to “measure” love between two people. The technologically advanced gadget can also be helpful to singles, assisting them in the process of finding their perfect mate over time. The protagonist of Fingernails is a lady named Anna, who is currently in what she calls a “certified love relationship” with her long-term partner Ryan. Nevertheless, Anna has a sneaking suspicion that her relationship with Ryan is not genuine, even though the computer has determined that they are a perfect match for one another. As a result, Anna decides to work at the enigmatic Love Institute as an assistant to one of the instructors. She does this because she has a deep-seated desire to finally put all of her uncertainties to rest.
