Mercury Steam Working on Two Unannounced Games
Mercury Steam, the developer behind the critically acclaimed Metroid Dread, has revealed it is working on two unannounced games and is partnering with 505 Games for distribution duties. The publisher is known for their multiplatform efforts, so it’s safe to assume that whatever they have in the pipeline is coming to PS5 & PS4.
The news comes from Nordisk Games’ latest earnings call, who owns a minority stake in Mercury Steam, which stated the company is developing “two large undisclosed titles.”
We already know that Mercury Steam is working with 505 Games on a fantasy-themed title, so it’s very likely that it’s one of the two games mentioned above. The game is known as Project Iron and has an initial development budget of €27 million.
Raffi and Rami Galante, co-CEOs of Digital Bros, said at the time of the game’s announcement, commented:
We are thrilled to work with the team at MercurySteam, a proven studio that over the years has created numerous phenomenal IPs – including the recent hit release Metroid Dread in partnership with Nintendo. With MercurySteam’s creative vision and talent and 505 Games extensive experience, gamers can expect a high-quality, captivating and engaging videogame.
