Apple Pay Now Available in Vietnam

Apple Pay is now available in Vietnam, so Apple users with a debit or credit card from a bank participating in Apple Pay can add their cards to the Wallet app to make Apple Pay transactions.

Infrastructure Development for Apple Pay in Vietnam

Apple Pay was first rumored to be coming to Vietnam in July. Since then, many institutions have been working hard to develop the infrastructure to support the payments service. iPhone and Apple Watch owners in Vietnam who shop at stores that support Apple Pay’s contactless payment capabilities can use their devices to make purchases without manually entering their payment information. According to a support page that was discovered to be leaked, Techcombank has plans to support Apple Pay.

Accessible Locations for Apple Pay in Vietnam

Apple Pay will be accessible at various locations, including WinMart, Phuc Long, Starbucks, McDonald’s, Highlands Coffee, and CGV Cinemas. Because of the prevalence of using QR codes as a payment method in Vietnam, it will be interesting to observe how Apple Pay stacks up against its competitors.

Expansion of Apple Pay Worldwide

Since the first launch of Apple Pay in 2014, the company has been making efforts to make the service more widely available. Apple Pay presently supports more than seventy-five countries, and the company is planning to roll out the payment system in additional nations as it strikes new business partnerships.
