Elon Musk’s Love for the Letter X
Just a few days ago, Elon Musk once again caused a stir online by making another questionable decision regarding his latest acquisition: the social media platform Twitter. Despite its widespread popularity and the term “tweeting” becoming common in many languages, Musk decided to throw it all away in favor of displaying his affection for the 24th letter of the alphabet. However, Musk’s love for the letter X did not go unnoticed by fans of Kingdom Hearts.
These fans are accustomed to another character obsessed with the letter X: the main antagonist of the series and creator of the True Organization XIII, Master Xehanort. For those unfamiliar with the Kingdom Hearts universe, Xehanort is responsible for incorporating the letter X into the names of the Organization XIII members (such as Roxas, Xemnas, Marluxia, etc.). His main goal is to forge the powerful X-Blade, embrace the darkness, and initiate a new Keyblade War.
Kingdom Hearts Fans Seize the Opportunity
As you can see, the 24th letter of the alphabet plays a significant role in the lore of Kingdom Hearts, particularly in relation to its main antagonist. So when Elon Musk (a character who surprisingly shares many similarities with Xehanort) decided to rename Twitter as X, it’s safe to say that fans of the Disney and Final Fantasy crossover series jumped at the chance.
One particular fan, known as Leytrx, who has been actively tweeting about Kingdom Hearts, took advantage of this name change to urge fans to change their profile pictures to the iconic black coat worn by the members of Organization XIII. This call was answered by many people, as seen in the replies to Leytrx’s tweet.
Although Elon Musk seems determined to stick with the new name for Twitter despite some challenges (such as domain name issues and the X name already being registered in multiple countries), Kingdom Hearts fans have found a great way to come together and shine in the spotlight. We wish them a great time of camaraderie while eagerly awaiting updates on Kingdom Hearts 4, which is reportedly still in development.
