Insomniac Games Working on a New Multiplayer Game

Erin Eberhardt, the Project Director for Insomniac Games, stated that the studio is working on a third game during an interview conducted in September 2022. The game will not be a sequel to Spider-Man or Wolverine but rather a multiplayer experience.

The user @Dream_WaIker on Twitter is responsible for the recent rediscovery of the interview, which has been disseminated online.

Insomniac Games’ Expansion into Multiplayer

2021 was the year that Insomniac Games initially posted open positions for a multiplayer project. Eberhardt joined the Insomniac team the following year. “This is my first triple-A game project now, and I’m the project director here on an unannounced project,” it was said at the time.

Insomniac Games’ Multiplayer Experience

Insomniac Games is best recognized for the deluge of single-player games it has released over the past few years, including Marvel’s Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. However, Insomniac is familiar with the world of multiplayer gaming. In the past, the studio has developed very successful games like Sunset Overdrive and the Resistance series.

Upcoming AAA Multiplayer Project

There have yet to be any official hints or announcements regarding the upcoming AAA multiplayer project. However, considering that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is slated for release later this year and Wolverine is aiming for a release in 2024, we may have to wait a bit for more details.
