Atomic Arcade Presents First Developer Update on GI Joe Snake Eyes Game
Wizard’s Of The Coast first revealed it would be working on a new GI Joe game back in 2021, with its newly created Raleigh-Durham studio we now know to be Atomic Arcade leading the way.
On Wednesday, Atomic Arcade presented its very first developer update on the coming title, a AAA GI Joe Snake Eyes game, announcing it is officially in the pre-production stage.
Studio head Derek Racca announced the news in a blog post numbered as the first “development update,” with the title revealing the focus on Snake Eyes.
“We recently hosted the leadership team from Wizards of the Coast here at our Raleigh, North Carolina studio to share our progress over the past year and a half developing the concept for the GI Joe Snake Eyes Game. We are incredibly proud and excited to share that we have officially moved out of our Concept phase and started the Pre-Production phase of development!
This next phase, Pre-Production, will be focused on getting the game and team ready for full Production and then release.
We will be working on many important things, such as finalizing development pipelines, identifying and hitting visual and performance targets, and culminating in a vertical slice milestone that will demonstrate a final quality cross-section of gameplay loops, technology, features, mechanics, art, and audio that will be part of the final version of the game.
The team has worked incredibly hard to get to this point, and we couldn’t be more proud of the work we have done and the game we are making!”
Racca also spoke about how the studio has grown since it was originally founded within Wizards Of The Coast, and part of the blog post also focused on the fact that it continues to be on the lookout for new talent.
It currently has five openings listed on its website, across animation, art, audio, and design departments.
