The Highly Anticipated StarCraft 3 is in Development
The highly anticipated next installment in the StarCraft series is on its way. According to the journalist Jez Corden, Blizzard is working hard on the third iteration of StarCraft.
Microsoft Will Not Resurrect StarCraft
Corden responded to a Twitter fan’s question about the possibility of Microsoft resurrecting StarCraft if and when its acquisition of Activision Blizzard is finalized by stating that this will not occur.
Corden stated there would be no reason for Microsoft to bring StarCraft back to life.
Another person questioned explicitly if it was StarCraft 3 and if Corden knew anything about it, and he responded with a simple answer consisting of one word: “Yep.”
StarCraft II’s Legacy and Blizzard’s Focus
StarCraft II, the final installment in the series, was first made available to the public in 2010, exactly 13 years ago. The game’s original release was in 2012, while the most recent expansion was released in 2016. However, since then, Blizzard has been very silent on the brand to put more of its attention toward Overwatch and Diablo.
It makes perfect sense for the firm to focus on its real-time strategy game since both series have recently released new entries.
