One civilian was killed and others were injured during the landing of US troops yesterday, Sunday, in the southern countryside of Hasaka in northeast Syria. The official Syrian news agency SANA, citing local sources, reported that “American occupation aircraft today, with the support of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters, carried out a massive airdrop operation in the village of Salham in the southeast of Al-Shadadi, in the countryside of southern Hasaka, along the Syrian-Iraqi border. Intense and indiscriminate shooting at people’s homes and surrounding farmland. SANA added: “US occupation forces and the SDF surrounded the village and opened fire on people who were trying to leave the village, fearing for their lives, resulting in the death of one civilian and the injury of others.”
US Military Presence in Syria
There are currently 28 US installations in Syria, including 24 military bases, and 4 points of presence hosting more than 2,000 US soldiers under the pretense of supporting the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and preventing the return of ISIS. (the terrorist is banned in Russia and a large number of countries) again. American forces are located in an area extending east of the Euphrates River in southeastern Syria, near the northeastern border crossing of al-Tanf near the Rumaylan oil fields, and dispersed in al-Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor, which made these bases more like a cordon surrounding the Syrian sources of oil and gas, located east of the Euphrates River, representing much of Syria’s underground wealth. The most important of these bases is Rmeilan Base, which is considered the first American point in Syria, and it is an agricultural airfield located near the village of Abu Hajar, southeast of the oil town of Rmeilan, located in the northeastern countryside of Al-Hasakah and has about 500 people.
