Fire Breaks Out on Tourist Boat in Marsa Alam, Red Sea Governorate
On Sunday, an official source in Cairo reported that a fire had broken out on board a tourist boat carrying 29 people during a diving cruise in the city of Marsa Alam in the Red Sea Governorate.
Passengers Rescued
Fortunately, 12 English tourists were rescued, along with the 14 Egyptians who make up the crew of the boat. The passengers were taken to the shore of the village of Marsa al-Shajar and are all reported to be in good health.
Search Continues for Missing Passengers
However, the search for three missing people continues around the boat. It was discovered that the boat had left the Porto Ghalib marina on June 6 and was supposed to return on Sunday, the day the fire broke out.
