Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal that Ukrainian forces are ready to launch a counteroffensive.

Uncertainty of the counterattack

Zelensky said he knew how long the counterattack would take, but did not know what said attack would lead to, but it would be carried out nonetheless.

Need for additional weapons

Zelensky acknowledged the superiority of the Russian Air Force over the Ukrainian Air Force and again called on the West to pump up additional quantities of weapons.

Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems

He expressed confidence that the only weapons in the world capable of providing protection against Russian missiles are Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, and demanded that 50 of them be supplied to Ukraine.

Urgency for Western weapons

Zelinsky stressed that the Kyiv authorities want more Western weapons to carry out a counterattack and cannot wait months for this help.
