During their participation in the Karate Premier League in the Moroccan capital of Rabat, which took place from 12 to 14 May, the Saudi Arabian karate team won two silver medals. Al-Akhdar participated in the tournament with 6 players from the first team, in the international rankings: Tariq Hamdi and Sanad Sufiani at +84kg, Faraj Al-Nashiri at -84kg, Sultan Al-Zahrani at -75kg, Fahd Al-Khatami at -67kg and Saud Al-Bashir and Badr Al-Otaibi at – 61 kg, under the supervision of the coach of the national team, captain Munir Afkir.
The team won two silver medals in the (combat) events through Sultan Al-Zahrani in the 75kg division and Sanada Sufyani in the +84kg division.
On the sidelines of the tournament, 6 Saudi referees passed the tests of the international classification of referees, namely: Marey Al-Bishi, Ismail Al-Fifi, Adel Hamzi, Ali Hamdi, Muhammad Hamdi, and Yazid Al-Dagaifak. as part of the federation’s strategy to elevate the level of Saudi judges and increase their numbers and participation locally and internationally.
The President of the Saudi Karate Federation, Dr. Musharraf Al-Shehri, congratulated the participating players and judges on their good and honorable level, emphasizing that the championship is a continuation of the important international championships that are held under the auspices of the International Karate Federation. , and the Federation is working to achieve achievements through it in accordance with its general strategy, and among the most important goals that it sets for itself, is striving to achieve them.
