Syrian international Omar Al-Soma, a striker for Qatari side Al Arabi on loan, has confirmed he will return to Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahly Jeddah football club as he honors his contract with the latter.
Al-Soma said in response to a question about his return to Al-Ahly at a press conference prior to Qatari Al-Arabi’s match against Al-Sadd in the Qatar Emir Cup final: “I didn’t want to talk about it. matters because all my focus is on Al Arabi, especially in the cup final.”
He added: “But I have a contract with Al Ahly Club and it is still on for another year and I respect my contract and will return to Al Ahly Club.
Al Soma joined Qatari club Al Arabi on loan from Al Ahly Jeddah after the Saudi side were relegated to the second division.
Omar Al-Soma finished second in the Qatar Stars League top scorer table with 19 goals, 3 goals behind Kenyan striker Michael Olongi, league champion Al Duhail Club, and Al Arabi also finished second in the league.
So far, the Al-Ahly club has managed to return to the Saudi professional league Rosen, led by South African coach Pitso Mushimane.
Omar Al Soma will play his club Al Arabi in the Qatar Emir Cup final match against Al Sadd Club today, Friday, at the Ahmed bin Ali Al Mondial Stadium in Al Rayyan.
