Yesterday, Sunday, a train derailed in the U.S. state of Montana, while local authorities said there was no danger to public safety. Around 9:00 AM, 20-25 wagons of a freight train derailed and crashed into the Clark Fork River in Sanders County: 20:00 local time (03:20 GMT).
The company said an investigation had been launched to determine the cause of the crash, adding that its employees were at the crash site along with rescuers.
Photos posted online show debris scattered under some of the wrecked rail cars, showing at least 12 cars.
There have been no reports of casualties yet.
This incident comes after several other similar incidents across America in recent weeks, in which one in Ohio released tons of pesticides, fueling local protests and alarming the entire nation.
