The MCU will soon have been around for 15 years. With more than 20 movies and several TV shows, the MCU has many interesting characters, from selfless heroes to alien bad guys who want to take over the whole galaxy.
With so much content, keeping up with everything can take much work. With so many plots and characters to keep track of, the MCU sometimes feels like it has too much going on. With thousands of comic characters, the MCU will only run out of characters for a while, but that doesn’t mean every comic character will get their due.
Conan the Barbarian
Yes, technically, Conan the Barbarian is a Marvel character. In the 1970s, the sword-wielding brute had his comic book series, which did very well for Marvel. But the problem is that Marvel never actually owned the character. Instead, they only had a license to use him until he was sold to Dark Horse Comics, then back to Marvel, and now to Titan Books.
Even though the character is constantly moved from one publishing company to another, it is clear that the character would never fit into the MCU. The loincloth-wearing barbarian would be significantly out of place in a world where villains can be from different dimensions and heroes can go to space.
Lady Death
Death being turned into a person has caused much trouble in Marvel Comics over the years. Especially for Thanos, who is a mad titan who kills people. Who wants Lady Death to love him so much that he searches the galaxy for the Infinity Stones so he can destroy all the stars and make Lady Death love him? Until Deadpool came along and stole Death’s love, which made the crazy titan go crazy with jealousy.
Since the Infinity Saga is over and there was no mention of Thanos’ love for Lady Death. Since Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool is going in a different direction, it’s unlikely we’ll ever see Lady Death in the MCU.
Alpha Flight
Marvel Comics is full of famous super-teams like The Avengers and the X-Men, who use their combined powers and teamwork to fight evil. Though not all of Marvel’s super-teams are as well-known, the people who bring these comic book characters to life usually don’t get much credit.
Like Alpha Flight, who are like the Canadian Avengers, the team first showed up in Wolverine’s past when he was a part of it. Since then, though, they have gone their own way. With so many superhero teams in Marvel, these Canadian Avengers seem unlikely ever to show up.
Squirrel Girl
At first glance, Squirrel Girl might look like a joke character that Marvel made up when they were tired of coming up with new ideas, but the brave, funny hero has shown her worth over the years. She is taking on enemies like Thanos and Doctor Doom, who are both very dangerous.
Her stories are usually more fun and lighthearted than most Marvel comics, which could work in some parts of the MCU, but overall, she wouldn’t add much to the MCU, which already has a vast number of characters.
Sentry
Sentry is one of Marvel’s strongest characters, and in a fight, he could beat the Hulk. Sentry is a real force to be reckoned with because he has almost every superpower there is. The only bad thing about him is that he loses his memory and sometimes can’t control his powers.
Sentry is a character with too much power and an identity crisis. He could be a real problem for the heroes of the MCU in the future. But Moon Knight dealt with the idea of having more than one identity, and there are already a lot of powerful characters, so it seems unlikely that Sentry will show up.
The Maggia
Spider-Man has some of the most well-known villains in all of the comics. The Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Venom have all made their first appearances on screen. But the wall-crawler faces off against some less well-known bad guys who wouldn’t fit in the MCU.
Bring in the Maggia, Marvel Comics’ version of the Mafia that is made up. Since these bad guys are more grounded and don’t pose much of a threat, it would make little sense for MCU Peter (Tom Holland) to waste time on them, especially after fighting aliens from space and supervillains from other dimensions.
The Masters of Evil
Over the years, the Masters of Evil have been a big problem for the Avengers. This group of supervillains was one of the first to fight against the Avengers. They were led by Baron Zemo, who was a very evil man. This group of bad guys will never get their due in the MCU.
Even though some characters, like Zemo (Daniel Bruhl) and Titiana (Jameela Jamil), have already been shown on screen, the MCU needs to do an excellent job putting the team together. Zemo will now join the Thunderbolts, and after She-Hulk, it’s hard to take Titiana seriously.
Venom
Even though Venom (Tom Hardy) was in a scene after the credits in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it’s unlikely that Spidey’s enemy/ally will ever get more than that. Every time a new Spider-Man movie comes out, Sony and Disney are in talks, so Sony will likely keep Venom on their side.
While Tom Holland’s Spider-Man swings through the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tom Hardy’s Venom will set up Sony’s spider-verse. That doesn’t mean Spider-Man will never fight the symbiotic brute, but it will have to happen in Sony’s universe, not the MCU’s.
Frankenstein’s Monster
This is funny since there’s no way the MCU would ever bring this famous character in. In the 1970s, Marvel Comics published a series of comics about Frankenstein’s Monster. The famous monster faced off against heroes like the Avengers, Spider-Man, and Iron Man.
Since the character belongs to Universal, and it would be silly to have Mary Shelley’s famous monster fight any of the Marvel Heroes, it is clear that the surface will never be in the MCU. There are some crazy characters in the MCU, but Frankenstein’s Monster will never be one of them.
Genis-vell
Mar-Vell, Marvel’s first Captain Marvel, was a Kree warrior who owned the nega-bands. After years of traveling the galaxy, Mar-Vell was told he had cancer that couldn’t be cured. He eventually died from the disease. Unlike many comic characters from the past, Mar-Vell did not return from the dead. Instead, new versions of Captain Marvel were made.
We all know that Carol Danvers will eventually take on the role of Captain Marvel and make it her own, but someone else did it before her. Genis-Vell is the son of Mar-Vell. He got his father’s powers and nega-bands and went on adventures in space. Due to falling interest in the new Captain Marvel, Marvel Comics gave the character a new twist by making him crazy and making him try to destroy the whole universe. This is an interesting turn that only happens sometimes with Marvel’s heroes.
