Yesterday, 50 Cent posted not one but two photographs on Instagram that appeared to show him actively working on the making of a show named “Vice City.” In these messages, he utilized Grand Theft Auto: Vice City imagery, which had the gaming community going bonkers with the idea that he might be related to GTA 6, presumably based in Vice City.
Since that time, the posts have been taken down, and Deadline has confirmed that Fiddy is, in fact, actively involved in the creation of a brand-new original television series called, you guessed it, Vice City. Although sharing many parallels with the 2002 open-world epic, it is unrelated to the Grand Theft Auto video game.
Paramount+ will develop 50 Cent’s Vice City.
Unfortunately, Deadline’s finding means that besides the enormous leaks from last year, there has yet to be any new information on GTA 6. Fans speculated endlessly about 50 Cent’s involvement in creating GTA 6 for a long time, proposing everything from musical licensing to a direct starring part in the game.
According to Deadline’s revelation, 50 Cent (and his affiliated businesses) will work with Paramount+, Lionsgate Entertainment, and Paramount Television Studios to develop Vice City, a brand-new project.
In 50 Cent’s own words (before they were deleted), this project will be more remarkable than Power, 50’s blockbuster series that ran for six seasons. It is said to be the work of the creative geniuses behind Transformers and John Wick.
Vice City is still in development, but the following summary was highlighted by the Deadline:
“Following three buddies and ex-soldiers who were dishonorably discharged from the military for their roles in the Iran Contra crisis, Vice City is set in Miami in the middle of the 1980s. The three pals team up with a strange Colombian immigrant, uniting their money demands and criminal ambitions to form a robbery squad. They are disgraced, uprooted, forgotten by the nation they served, and have no solid career prospects. They travel a harsh and dangerous route to chase the American Dream, driven by their thirst for American green.”
Even though the two games are unconnected, Vice City and GTA: Vice City share many similarities.
Thus, it’s excellent for fans of 50 Cent television shows, but it’s only a confirmation, leaving GTA fans wanting more. An insider recently suggested that GTA 6 will be released in 2024, but that’s the latest rumor regarding the game.
