The Al Ajlaniya Water Project was opened in Al Ajlaniya District, Al Qatn District, Hadhramaut East, using a solar power system funded by the Saudi Yemen Development and Reconstruction Program, the Gulf Arab Development Program (AGFUND) and the Village Development Fund. The project will benefit the region’s 8,000 residents by helping to end their suffering in obtaining drinking water due to the difficulty of obtaining fuel, rising oil prices and the difficult economic conditions in which the country finds itself. , To develop the launch of a project on the use of renewable energy sources to improve the quality of life in Yemen and their immediate intervention in the implementation of the first component of the project, a solar energy systems project for the operation of drinking water projects in 11 beneficiary departments in three Yemeni governorates (Hadramout – Abyan – Lahj ), and the opening coincides with the opening of drinking water well projects in the other governorates of Hadhramut, Abyan and Lahj, which include 12 projects in 11 districts benefiting 58,500 people.
At the inauguration ceremony attended by Abd al-Latif Muhammad al-Naqib, CEO of the Cotton Directors, Ali Hasan Bashmah, Executive Director of the Silah Foundation, and an engineer who will end the suffering of citizens from frequent water interruptions and alleviate the suffering of the committees on water projects in providing fuel for pumping drinking water. Appreciating the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its generous and continuous support, especially the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen and the Gulf Arab Development Program, AGFUND for implementing projects that contribute to the improvement of infrastructure, in particular in Hadramout, and Yemen in general, and also meet the needs of citizens.
