The General Assembly of the Asian Football Confederation re-elected Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa by acclamation to the presidency as he was voted unanimously for a third four-year term until 2027 at the thirty-third meeting held by the General Assembly yesterday, Wednesday, in the capital of Bahrain, Manama.A Sheikh Salman was appointed as the tenth president of the Asian Football Confederation in 2013 and in 2015 he was re-elected by acclamation to the post of Asian Football Confederation President and Vice President. President of the International Football Association and in 2018 he was appointed First Vice President of the International Football Association and then in 2019 he was re-elected by acclamation of both parties at the four-year session.
The AFC President said: I want to thank you once again for your tremendous support in my presidency of the Asian Football Family over the next four years.
He added: I carry out my duties with great pride and honor, and many achievements have been made for this, but there is still much to be done together, and most importantly, our achievements confirm the stability and unity of strong foundations. that we have built together over the past decade.
“Now that we look ahead, I can assure you that the AFC will continue to focus on the development of our national and regional member associations as this will be our top priority.
