An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of the state of Hatay overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in southern Turkey. The Turkish Presidency for Disaster and Emergency Management said the earthquake struck yesterday at a depth of 18.35 km below sea level, at an altitude 16 km. from the coast of the Yayladag region in the province of Hatay, in the south of the country.
There have been no reports of human or material losses so far.
