Director General of Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Wildlife Sanctuary Development Authority, Engineer Muhammad Al-Shaalan opened a sustainable hunting competition in the Northern Wildlife Sanctuary for sustainable hunting. located on an area of 2000 square kilometers in the northeast of the Kingdom, is the first of its kind and aims to preserve wildlife, realize economic opportunities and develop development opportunities for the local community, in addition to developing a tourism product in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, indicating that the purpose of establishing this reserve is to organize organized hunting in certain quantities, reduce illegal hunting by providing sustainable alternatives, minimize the impact on wild animals in nature and revive folklore.
For his part, Imam Turki bin Abdullah Abdul Majid Al Dabaan, Director General of the Local Community at the Royal Game Reserve Development Authority, explained that one of the most important conditions for entering the Northern Game Reserve for sustainable hunting is the confirmation of permits. with the obligation to provide a reserve for visiting houses, and also that the number of people in the camp does not exceed 25 people. And the signing of declarations on the conditions of the reserve, noting that the number of applicants for participation in the competition was nominated on the basis of an automated algorithm for 600 participants distributed among 10 teams competing daily.
