An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale hit the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines today.
The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center said in a statement: “The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 60 km, and its magnitude changed from 6.1 degrees at the beginning to 5.6 degrees.”
Local authorities did not provide immediate news on whether human or material losses were recorded as a result of the earthquake.
