Abdullah Saleh, one of the stars of the Saudi Arabia team participating in the 94 World Cup in the United States of America, considers the current period of the preparations for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar to be the most important.
Saleh said in a statement to Al Madina that focus, harmony and commitment are required from players both on and off the pitch.
He added that the preparations for the 1994 World Cup in America are different from the current preparations for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, as the two stages are separated by approximately 28 years.
Abdullah Saleh recalls the period of preparation for the World Cup 94, saying that preparations at that time were continuous and long through internal camps in Riyadh, Jeddah and the eastern region, and there was also an external camp in one of the European countries and in North America.
And Saleh pointed out that media distancing was one of the success factors at the World Cup in America, but now social media platforms are in the hands of the players day and night and difficult to control.
As for the Al-Akhdar group at the World Cup in Qatar, he stressed that this is a difficult group, it includes strong teams, but added that everything goes with determination and will, there is nothing complicated in this, especially since our football players have experience of dealing with such difficult matches, and we have previously met with Argentina.
He explained that our players can achieve positive results that reflect the development of our sport, given that previous performances are lessons to be learned from the present.
Saleh believed that factors at the World Cup in Qatar prepared the national team for positive results, including the massive influx of Saudi fans to Al-Akhdar’s matches with his motivating role.
