Ukraine, which had requested the debate, is expected to introduce a resolution calling for an investigation into violations of Moscow in the country.
Russia had rejected Ukraine’s request for the debate and demanded the issue be put to a vote but a large majority of all 47 council members supported Kyivla’s request.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said on Monday that climbing of Russia military operations in Ukraine was leading for rising human rights violations and global body watched them with teams on ground.
