After U.S. President Joe Biden’s Democratic Party retained its Senate seat from Arizona, leaving it with only one seat left to maintain its majority in the House of Representatives, former President Donald Trump again criticized the electoral process in some states, questioning its validity.
He commented on the matter, stating in a tweet on his Truth Social that some voting machines were not working in Arizona, leading to “falsifications and fraud in the elections” and called for “re-elections.”
He hasn’t admitted defeat yet.
It comes after local media confirmed that former astronaut Mark Kelly defeated Republican opponent Blake Masters in the southwestern state, AFP reported.
So far, Masters has yet to admit defeat.
It is noteworthy that after Kelly’s victory, the number of Democratic senators increased to 49.
There are still two seats to fill: one in Nevada, where the vote count continues, and one in Georgia, where a runoff will take place on December 6.
7 places
And if two parties win 50 seats each, which means things stay the same, the Democrats will retain control of the Senate thanks to a vote by Vice President Kamala Harris.
Days after Tuesday’s vote, it remains to be seen which of the two parties will control Congress, it is reported.
While the Republicans seemed on track to win a majority in the House of Representatives, they still need 7 seats.
