Muammar Al-Eryani, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, said: “The terrorist attack carried out by the Houthi militia in Iran using a drone and aimed at the commercial port of Qena in Shabwa province confirms that the militia acted on instructions, planning and arming Iran in the coming escalation and destruction of the infrastructure and elements of the national economy and the capabilities of the Yemeni people, without regard to the situation that is difficult for humanity.
Muammar Al-Eryani added: “The Houthi militia behind these terrorist attacks is seeking to place a siege on the Yemeni people by stopping the arrival of goods and consumer goods through Yemeni ports, cutting off the sources of funding for the state treasury, and hindering the government’s efforts to normalize the situation, provide services and pay wages to state employees and pensioners in the liberated regions.
Al-Eryani pointed out that the continuation of these attacks portends a high level of risk for merchant ships and oil tankers on international shipping lines, rising insurance prices and, as a result, rising prices for oil products, food and consumer goods, adding new burdens to citizens.
Al-Eryani pointed out that the Houthi terrorist militias are stepping up attacks on trade and oil ports in the liberated areas, while the government is making concessions and providing facilities for the delivery of oil products through the port of Hodeidah on a regular basis, based on its legal and moral obligations to all Yemenis and alleviate their suffering.
Al-Eryani stressed that the government will not stand by and watch these attacks, which portend dire consequences at various levels, such as the explosion of an oil tanker’s whistle.
Al-Eryani called on the international community, the United Nations, as well as the UN and US envoys to move beyond the language of condemnation and take positions of containment that rise to the level of a terrorist attack and pose a threat to regional and international security and peace, and move forward. decisively end Iran’s interference in Yemeni affairs and declare the Houthi militia a “terrorist organization”.
