Today, Sunday, Olympic Green kick off their campaign for the West Asian Under-23 Championships against the Syrian team at the King Abdullah Sports Hall in Jeddah.
The Kingdom will host the tournament until November 15 with the participation of six teams, which were divided into two groups, the first included Qatar, Lebanon and Oman, and the second – the teams of Saudi Arabia, Syria and Bahrain.

Saad Al-Shehri depends on the group of players with whom he recently won the Asian Cup in Uzbekistan, with the exception of some players who moved to the Saudi Arabia first team.
Al Shehri confirms that Saudi Arabia is participating in this tournament as part of a long-term preparation plan that has begun since participating in the Islamic Games in Turkey, noting that the goal is to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games while maintaining this is an Asian title.
The match will not be easy for the Saudi Greens, but they will try to take advantage of the elements of the ground and the public, as well as the experience of their players as continental champions.
For their part, the Syrian team will come forward with all their technical strength to make up for the loss they suffered at the opening of the tournament at the hands of Bahrain in order to maintain their chances in the competition.
Syria’s Dutch coach Mark Fett is expected to draw on the same group of players that played against Bahrain.
