Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the Russian leadership, led by President Vladimir Putin, is still ready to negotiate on Ukraine.
“The readiness of Russia, including its president, to negotiate on Ukraine has not changed, according to Russian media.
Lavrov added: “We will always be ready to listen to the proposals of our Western partners aimed at de-escalation, therefore, if realistic proposals are sent to us based on the principles of equality and respect for each other’s interests, in order to find compromises and balance the interests of all countries, of course, we will , however, as they have always been in the past.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the willingness of the United States to listen to the concerns of the Russian Federation could open the way for dialogue between the leaderships of the two countries.
In statements released by the Russian news agency Sputnik, he added that Russia’s concerns, including those related to security, “could be a starting point for dialogue between President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart, Joe Biden.”
