Ukraine complained against Russia at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague to get it to stop its invasions, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday.
“Russia must be held accountable for manipulate the concept of genocide to justify aggression,” said Zelensky in a tweet.
“We call for an emergency decision ordering Russia must stop military activity now and expect trials start next week.”
The ICJ, which is based in the Dutch capital The Hague, has no mandate to bring criminal charges against individual Russian rulers behind the four day old child invasion.
However, it is the world’s highest ground for resolve interstate legal complaints over alleged breaches of international law. It is the supreme judicial institution of the United Nations.
