Today, the SABIC qualifiers for the World Robot Olympiad kicked off at King Salman’s Oasis in Riyadh under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Minister of Sports, Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and was hosted by the Federation of Wireless Sports, Remote Saudi Arabian Control and Robotics with 100 qualified teams from qualifying competitions held in 18 cities in Saudi Arabia with the participation of 200 students from various schools in the Kingdom.
438 teams (1176 boys and girls) in the physical classes and 1789 teams (11342 boys and girls) in the virtual classes took part in the preliminary qualification competitions, led by 427 men and women coaches in the physical classes. and 3,504 male and female coaches in a virtual classroom with 416 judges.
It is noteworthy that the winning teams in the finals will qualify for participation in the World Robot Olympiad, which will be held next November in the German city of Dortmund.
