Today, the Saudi Arabian Automobile and Motorcycle Federation held a conference leading up to the official launch of Qassim Rally 2022, the second round of the Saudi Arabian Toyota Cross-Country Rally Championship, in the presence of media representatives and riders in the automotive and motorcycle categories.
The conference was chaired by Federation Director General Sattam Al-Khazami, who indicated that the aim of the Qassim Rally, in addition to fighting for the title, is to contribute to the sport and to contribute to the training of local and international participants in long-term external and international competitions such as the Dakar Rally.
For their part, the Saudi Arabian runners at the conference expressed their joy at having accepted a new challenge that unites them with local and international rally champions, especially since they participated in the Grad Rally a few weeks ago.
Participants also talked about the importance of rallying and the different plans in this round such as the short desert rally “Baja” which are preparation for long races and stand at their level of fitness and readiness, as it requires concentration from the co-driver’s assistant and about stable and stable operation throughout all three stages of the rally is more than pure speed.
The competition will open with a number of Saudi drivers including Yazid Al-Rajhi and Muhammad Al-Tuwaijri in the T1 Prototype concept car category, Jafar Al-Qahtani and Haylan Al-Subaye in the stock car category. “T2” stock cars, Saleh Al Saif and Dania Akil in the desert vehicle category, light “T3” Bags, Saeed Al Mouri and Maha Al Hamali in the “T4” truck category, Mishal Al Ghunaim regular bikes, and Abdul Majid Al Khulaifi in the four-wheeler category.
The rally consists of three stages between the city of Buraydah, specifically in the Qasim National Park in the center of Usailan, and the governorates of Shamasiyah and Al Mitnab. Friday and the final 185 km starting from “Usaylan” to “Al Mitnab” and then returning to the starting point.
