Interior Minister Andrey Yusov on Wednesday condemned Russia’s investigation into a weekend bombing that severely damaged a bridge connecting the Russian mainland with Crimea, calling it “nonsense.”
“What the FSB and the Investigative Committee are doing is nonsense,” Yusov was quoted by the Ukrainian TV and Radio Company in response to a question about Moscow’s accusations.
Yusuf described the Russian FSB and the Investigative Committee as “fake structures serving the Putin regime, so we, of course, will not comment on their statements.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Ukrainian security officials of involvement in the blast, and Russia’s Federal Security Service said earlier Wednesday that it had arrested five Russians and three citizens of Ukraine and Armenia in connection with the blast.
Russia’s Federal Security Service said on Wednesday it had arrested five Russians and three citizens of Ukraine and Armenia in connection with the explosion that destroyed the Crimean bridge last Saturday.
The security service accused “the unit of the main intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and its chief Kirill Budanov of organizing this explosion.”
