Twenty-five people have died as a result of heavy rains and lightning strikes in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh over the past two days.
And Indian media have pointed out that the rains have caused trees to fall and flood driveways, causing power and water outages and affecting traffic in various parts of the state.
In the same context, the Indian Meteorological Department issued a moderate to heavy rain warning today in parts of the state, especially in the eastern and central parts, amid high water levels in all major rivers of the state.
