Dr. Mohammed bin Saif Al Kuwari, Vice Chairman of the Qatar National Human Rights Committee, reaffirmed his country’s commitment to promoting human rights and protecting migrant workers.
He praised the State’s efforts to promote the values of freedom, justice and equality, as well as to spread the culture of dialogue and peaceful coexistence, as well as the concept of a constitutional civil state, especially in light of its readiness to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, pointing out in this connection to the Committee’s role in the protection and promotion of human rights.
This happened during two meetings between the vice chair of the committee and two European human rights delegations, one of which is an Italian legal specialist and the other led by the United Kingdom’s envoy for migration and modern slavery, Andrew Patrick.
During the two meetings, issues of mutual interest were discussed and the role of the committee in the protection and promotion of human rights was presented, as well as an exchange of ideas, experience and views on legal aspects.
