Marriages and divorces have increased in Turkey in 2021, a report by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) revealed on Friday.
The figures show than the number of couples who to have married in 2021 increased by 15.02% compared to the previous one year and likewise, the number of couples who divorced increased by 27.46%.
Last year, 561,710 couples got married. The raw marriage rate or the number of marriages per 1,000 people has been on average 6.68. On the other hand, 174,085 couples divorced.
