The coffin containing the body of the late British Queen Elizabeth II arrived Tuesday evening at the Northolt Air Force Base, west of London. In preparation for the state funeral and to allow the public a farewell glimpse of them.
Tens of thousands of Britons gathered on Tuesday morning to pray in front of the Queen’s coffin in Edinburgh before she was transferred to London tonight.
British officials have announced that the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II will be held at Westminster Abbey in London next Monday, September 19, Sky News reports.
It is worth noting that the British authorities have banned flights at an altitude below a certain level over the areas of London and Edinburgh during the mourning ceremonies.
Queen Elizabeth II passed away last Thursday at Balmoral Castle at the age of 96 after seventy years in power.
