Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council, and Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council of the Fraternal United Arab Emirates, held a formal negotiating session on Tuesday at the Council’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, during which consultations were held to unification of views and positions on various priority and common interests issues presented in the program of inter-parliamentary events, in accordance with the existing strategic relations between the two countries.
At the start of the session, Saqr Ghobash welcomed Sheikh Dr. Al Sheikh and his accompanying delegation to their second country, the UAE. We express our sincere gratitude for accepting the Council’s invitation to this visit. He wished them a pleasant stay and great benefit from its results, which are an additional contribution to the existing strategic relations between the two fraternal countries.
He also congratulated the Speaker of the Shura Council on the 92nd National Day of Saudi Arabia, which falls on September 23rd. He wished the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia further progress and prosperity under wise leadership. Ghobash said that the Emirati-Saudi relations are a special model of relations between the two brotherly countries, linked by historical ties, customs, traditions, plans and a common destiny based on goals and positions, which ensure the integration of views between the two countries to deal with the present and build the future, and meet the aspirations of the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, God bless him, and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who is represented in the continuous improvement of these relations, since it is an important pillar of the strengthening of Arab relations as a whole.
He stressed that the UAE and Saudi Arabia share a strong and historic brotherly relationship, which was formally strengthened through the efforts of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God bless their souls.

Ghobash and Dr. Al-Sheikh emphasized that the existing strategic relationship between the two countries is reinforced by blood ties, heritage, destiny and common interests, as well as compatible views, which the leadership of the two countries sought to document and translate into constructive initiatives. through the establishment of the Saudi Arabian Emirates Coordinating Council, which operates according to a common strategy involving the use of huge commercial and investment potential to promote and sustain development.
At the meeting, they reviewed the strengthening of the existing strategic cooperation relationship between the two councils while participating in upcoming parliamentary events, as well as current developments and positions, especially in relation to cases of common interest.
During the talks, the progress in the strategic partnership relations between the two countries was touched upon, which had a positive impact on parliamentary relations through consultations, cooperation and coordination between the parliaments of the two countries. He noted that the signing of the “Friendship Association” project between the two councils has led to the strengthening of their outstanding relations and complementing the aspects of cooperation and strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries at all levels, in order to achieve more aspects of parliamentary cooperation. and integration between the two brotherly countries.
Ghobash stressed the importance of developing a joint program between the two councils through the United Parliamentary Brotherhood Association for meetings, bilateral meetings and workshops between members of the two councils.
Sheikh Dr. Al-Sheikh, on his own behalf and on behalf of the members of the Council, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Sakru Ghobash for this generous invitation to visit the UAE. He highly appreciated the established fraternal relations between the two countries, which have been strengthened over decades and culminated in the generous patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, who in them have depth, embodied in the coincidence of the positions of the two fraternal countries on many issues in the region.
