The Israeli newspaper Haaretz, citing representatives of the army of the occupied country, said that Israel is responsible for the murder of 5 children in the last days of clashes with the Islamic Jihad movement in Gaza.
An army investigation into the incident at the Fallujah cemetery east of Jabaliya concluded that the children were killed in an Israeli raid, the journalist said. Following the deaths of the five minors, a number of senior Israeli army officers said they were “probably killed by an Islamic Jihad missile”.
The Israeli army responded to the newspaper’s report by saying that it “attacked Islamic Jihad military installations in the Gaza Strip. During its operations, the Israeli army has made every reasonable effort to minimize damage to the civilian population and civilian property as much as possible.” He added that “the army is investigating all its actions during the operation, the investigation into the incident at the cemetery is still ongoing.” For three days, the Israeli army carried out raids in the Gaza Strip, in which, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 49 people were killed, including 17 children and 4 women, and 360 were injured.
