The Kingdom will take part in the Fifth Islamic Solidarity Games “Konya 2022”, which will officially start next Tuesday in Konya, Republic of Turkey, with the participation of 54 Islamic countries and will last until the eighteenth of August.
Over 130 male and female players represent the Kingdom in women’s 3×3 basketball, darts, gymnastics, athletics, fencing, football, handball, judo, karate, archery, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, weightlifting, wrestling and swimming. .
It is noteworthy that in 2005, the kingdom held the first Islamic session in the Mecca Al-Mukarrama area, which topped the overall ranking with 60 medals (24 gold, 17 silver and 19 bronze), then the cities of Balmbang and Sumatra in Indonesia hosted the third session in 2013, and the Kingdom ranked seventh in the overall ranking of the session with 16 medals (7 gold, three silver and 6 bronze), followed by the fourth session in Baku in 2017 in which the Kingdom ranked eleventh overall with 11 medals (4 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze).
