Today, Thursday, the competitions of the group stage of the Arab States Cup among youth teams under 20, which will be held from July 20 to August 6, ended, as a result of which the teams of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Yemen, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Palestine advanced to the quarter-finals.
Morocco defeated Palestine 1-0 at the end of Group F matches at the club’s Damak Stadium in Khamis Mushait province.
Morocco’s goal was scored by Anas Mimouni in the last minutes of the match, and his colleague Reda Al-Rakoui was recognized as the best player of the match.
With this result, the balance of the Moroccan team rises to 6 points at the top of the Group F standings and guarantees a quarter-final with a second Palestinian team with 3 points, followed by the Sudanese team without credit.
Saudi Arabia advanced to the first group, with Jordan and Yemen from the second, Algeria from the third, Egypt from the fourth and Tunisia from the fifth, followed by Morocco and Palestine from the sixth and final group.
The quarter-finals will take place next Sunday.
The Tunisian team beat their Djiboutian counterpart 6–0 at the end of the fifth group matches to secure qualification to the quarter-finals.
Tunisia’s goals were scored by Mohamed Aziz and Raed Bouchnier, two goals each, and one goal each by Mohamed Daoui and Zinedine Sassi.
Tunisia’s Zinedine Sassi received the Man of the Match award.
With this result, the balance of the Tunisia team rises to 6 points at the top of the table in Group E, followed by the Bahrain team with 3 points, and then the Djibouti team without points.
The Yemeni team also secured qualification among the best runners-up after finishing second in the second group with 3 points, 4 points behind leaders Jordan.
