In recent hours, Barcelona fans have had high hopes for the possible return of Argentine star Lionel Messi, especially after club president Joan Laporta hinted at it.
Laporta told ESPN: “I don’t think Messi’s story with Barcelona is over. It remains open to possibilities and we have a responsibility to make sure this story ends better than it did.”
“I’m not happy with the way he left Barcelona,” he added.
Barcelona head coach Javi Hernandez reacted to the popular news of Leo’s return by telling the Spanish newspaper Sport: “There is no point in talking about Messi’s return to Barcelona at this time.
He added: “Messi has a contract with Paris Saint-Germain so his return is currently not possible and we will see what happens in the future.”
Messi joined Saint-Germain last summer on a free transfer after the Catalan club failed to renew his contract.
He continued: “President Joan Laporta has already said that he hopes that Messi’s departure will not be the end of his history with Barcelona.
