The US state of Colorado officials announced that, in addition to the bodies of 5 adults, substances described as “illegal drugs” were found in an apartment.
The bodies of five adults, a child and another adult were found alive at an apartment complex at Crossings International, state officials said.
The city’s chief of police, Clint Nichols, said police responded to the call of a group of unconscious people and when they arrived at the scene, they found six adults and a 4-month-old baby.
“One in six surviving adults was taken with the baby to a nearby medical facility,” he added.
“It is unclear whether the child’s parents were among the victims at the scene,” Nichols said, noting that “the baby is doing well.”
“There were some substances that could qualify as illegal drugs in the presence of the victims, but it is too early to estimate that this was the cause of death,” he said.
