The lawyers considered that it was a matter of course that certain club officials be called to the Professional Committee to hear their opinion on what could be attributed to them, as long as it was in accordance with the rules and regulations.
This comes amid a call from the Professional Committee of the Football Association, some officials of Al Ittihad Club and player Abdul Razzaq Hamdallah in connection with a complaint filed by Al Nasr Club.
Dr. Omar Al-Khouli, a lawyer and legal adviser, commented on the background to calling some officials of the Al-Ittihad Club for a hearing before the Professionalism Committee, stating: “The Al-Nasr Club has the right to file a complaint with the Professionalism Committee against any club, if he has indications or suspicions of violations affecting him.
The responsibilities of the Professionalism Committee include checking reports and then investigating what can be obtained from them, as well as the right to seek assistance from expert bodies.
The Al-Ittihad Club and its staff are required to comply with the committee’s request to complete the investigation.
All this is within the framework of what has been decided legally, and I see that the position of the Al-Ittihad club in this matter is strong, and this is from the reality of the regulations.
For his part, lawyer and legal adviser Khaled Al-Mohammadi explained that the decision of the Professionalism Committee to call Al-Ittihad officials to process the transfer of player Abdul Razzak Hamdallah is a normal legal procedure in such cases.
He added that it is also the defendant’s legal right to testify and defend his legal right to evidence at the conclusion of the investigation, and these cases are considered among the most difficult cases to be resolved, and their results are delayed for up to six months, as, for example, in the case of Calciopoli, which led to the relegation of Juventus.
The case also requires the examiners to know and determine if the records are authentic or not, which is a tricky issue to make a quick decision.
