Today in Kampala, Uganda, the United States announced more than $592 million in humanitarian assistance to Africa through the State Department and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
This assistance will provide vital support to refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons, stateless persons, forcibly displaced and persecuted persons across Africa, including those affected by the crises in the Horn of Africa, the Sahel and other emergencies. in a departmental announcement today.
She noted that this assistance will enable humanitarian partners to assist the more than seven million refugees and asylum seekers currently stationed across Africa, in addition to the more than 25 million internally displaced people.
The State Department called on other donors to provide additional support to meet the growing humanitarian needs on the continent.
